Welcome to Brand Mates... "Where Likes Attract"

Happily married for the past 30 years I was inspired to launch a dating site.

Ok, I know it sounds a little strange, but being a serial entrepreneur, marketer and "idea whisperer" I had an idea for a dating site that is truly unique and very reflective of how most of us go through our daily lives.

My marriage to my wife Kim over the past 30 years has been pretty blissful even while experiencing many of the "for better, for worse" life dramas that we all usually have.

And my theory of why Kim and I have such a good marriage, and an even better friendship I believe is because we have more in common, than not.

Now every relationship, both successful and unsuccessful are very different, and there's no one formula to creating marital bliss, or even a tolerable marriage, but if you look around as I have for the past 30 years, more often than not, the best marriages and friendships are between people who have more in common than not.

They LIKE to do many of the same things, and they like many of the same things.

And whats another way to describe things, "BRANDS." 

Now if you're thinking that sounds a little shallow just take a moment to think through all of the BRANDS you love, your favorite BRANDS and the BRAND experiences you tell others about.

Hmmmm... could there be some type of BRAND relationship connection you could test drive... say with your friends and family to test out this theory?

Think about all the people around you.

The ones that are married, and the ones that are divorced. Do the ones that seem to have pretty good marriages have more in common, or less?

And the ones that seemed so happily married and are now divorced, did they have more in common, or not?

Well we've all heard that OPPOSITES ATTRACT, but I'd like to offer a new way of thinking when you're looking for a soul mate, or even a friend.

LIKES ATTRACT, and more importantly, for a lot longer.

WELCOME TO "BRAND-MATES... WHERE LIKES ATTRACT!"

A couple years ago I was having a conversation with my sister [twice divorced*] who said "All I want is to meet a man who likes getting up early in the morning for a Starbucks and joins me at Barnes & Noble to shop for books when the "seed of an idea" came to me.

And that was that there ought to be a dating site where "like-BRANDED people" could meet.

So for the past couple of years I've been researching, observing, talking and listening to all kinds of friends and acquaintances, married couples, and lots of people who are still single or divorced, and the more I observe and listen, the more I'm convinced I am that the more people have in common, the better chance they'll not only stay together, they'll enjoy it much more as well.

Inspired by that belief we're building a dating site where people create their personal profiles based on the BRANDS that are near and dear to their heart. That way they can have some fun searching and connecting to other "like-BRANDED people" to date, find a soul-mate, or maybe even just find a friend.

Yes we all know there's a lot more to a great relationship than just a love of the same kind of coffee, but who needs another "I love quiet walks on the beach" dating site, there are plenty of them already.
